The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) helps protect the privacy of student education records. FERPA provides eligible students the right to inspect and review education records, the right to seek to amend those records and to limit disclosure of information from the records. The intent of the legislation is to protect the rights of students and to ensure the privacy and accuracy of education records. FERPA applies to all institutions that are recipients of federal aid administered by the United States Department of Education.
There are three options to submit a student release. By doing so as a student, you are providing consent for a third party to access your educational records.
If you are already logged into MyAACC, you can also access the student records release by following this link.
You can request the student release form and submit it through your MyAACC email address (@mymail.aacc.edu) to [email protected]. If you send the form through your personal email, it will not be accepted.
You can visit the records and registration office in Arnold (SSVC 140) to submit your student release form. Picture identification will be required when you submit the release.
