A Little More

Oksana Fisher has been an integral part of AACC since 2017, initially serving as an adjunct professor and transitioning to a full-time role in 2022. With a robust background as a certified public accountant, she brings a wealth of knowledge from her professional practice into the classroom and specializes in accounting and personal finance. Her dedication to financial literacy is evident through her leadership of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, where she helps low-income individuals with tax preparation.

In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Fisher is deeply passionate about empowering her students, particularly women, to pursue careers in accounting and business. This commitment led to the co-creation of the Women in Finance series, launched in fall 2023, which fosters discussions and knowledge-sharing among women in the field.

Beyond her professional life, Fisher enjoys reading, yoga, meditation and gardening. She is also a devoted mother to three active children and a dog mom to Ruby, a beagle. Her children’s involvement in various sports keeps her busy as she supports and cheers them on.

Fisher finds joy in the diverse backgrounds and goals of AACC students. She is known for her approachable nature and genuine care for her students' success. Each term she builds meaningful relationships with her students, guiding and encouraging them throughout their educational journeys. She is committed to education and has a passion for financial empowerment for the next generation of lifelong learners.
